If I had time I'd photoshop him into uniform.

I'd be less horrified by this if I hadn't recently seen Pathfinder, one of the worst, most boring movies I've ever seen. And I'm usually all set if you just stick a really awesome battle scene into a bad movie. I can at least say, "But what about that AWESOME battle scene?!" Pathfinder. [shudder]

Considering that this movie is about the early days of the Enterprise - before the time of the original series - they would be hard-pressed to put Bill (or Lenny) in as YOUNGER versions of themselves.

Moonliner 10-26-2007 04:36 PM

So does Lenny play like his own father or are we in for yet more time tripping....

I've heard rumors that the game plan for this movie is to "Piss off the old fans and rebuild the franchise with a younger audience".

But now that I hear Shatner is NOT in the movie this time perhaps that is just scuttlebutt.

blueerica 10-26-2007 05:57 PM

The thing is... while they can rez one of the characters (Spock), it'd be hard pressed all these years later to suddenly resurrect Kirk just to have him in a bit part in a movie.

I am not thinking this is set out to piss off old fans. I'm excited to see it come out, and I'm finding little need to speculate until it's out in theaters.

Yes, but Karl Urban is not a younger version of McCoy. It's McCoy's fantasy vision of himself as a young man that never was.

WTF???

I know that Bill Somebody regretted letting his character be killed off right after "Generations" was finished. He was probably hoping for a miracle so he could play Kirk one more time.

I had to Google him, but now that I see, I think it's hilarious. He's from New Zealand, for crying out loud. I thought they were supposed to to find a grumbly southern boy for this one.
We'll see if the guy can pull it off.
