Basketball season is great except when it sucks
 

I love coaching HS ball....except days like today and Saturday. Had my first round of cuts today, will finalize them on Saturday. I hate - HATE - looking a hard working good kid in the eye and tell him he didn't make it.

That sucks.

At least you look them in the eye. Most of the coaches I've had just put up a list of those who made it. Sorry you have to do that but I think you are at least doing it the right way.

I could never coach myself....way too impatient.

Freshman high school basketball: I got the list. One of the last things I really cried over.

Coaches that post the list suck.

The deed is done. I feel like puking.

Well at least you know that the kids you had to let go will respect you more for actually telling them rather than just posting a memo.
