Leonid Meteor Showers 11/17
They peak tomorrow night, here's the rocket science on how to view them
|
I here they're Magnificent

Leonid's got balls!

Unfortunately it is a expected to be a bit of a down year for them.
I'm going camping tomorrow hoping to see them but at the moment the chances of overcast are pretty good. |
On my way into work day before yesterday, just as sunrise was happening, with a just glowing sky and a black mountain sillouetted in front. Then - A shooting star! So darn bright I wondered for a split secone what it was. Then instantly, a huge trail behind it, nearly sparkling. The entire thing lasted for only a second or so if that but I was in awe. It was the brightest, longest tailed shooting star I've ever seen.
Then yesterday morning, at around the same time, I caught another one out of my eye and thought - What in the heck? 1 is special - but 2? Now I'm thinking that this might be why? |
