Evel Knievel dies at 69

Though I would prefer my obit says "NirvanaMan dies during 69", I suppose this one isn't so bad.

May you jump over the gates of heaven on a fine Harley good sir.

Evel Knievel dies at 69

From CNN:

Quote:

Evel Knievel, the motorcycle daredevil whose stunts -- including an attempted leap over Idaho's Snake River Canyon -- made him a popular cultural figure, is dead, according to his Web site, evelknievel.com. He was 69.
As a kid in the 70s, it seemed that every boy with a bicycle at one time or another wanted to be like him. I still remember being huddled around a TV set watching as he tried, and failed, to jump the snake river canyon in his rocket cycle. Looking back, it all seems a little silly, but at the time - that was some amazing stuff.

Yeah, what a great personality.

I used to have the toys - the motorcycle that you would wind up and the RV.

RIP -

I'm guessing I am looking at a merged thread.

It was just two days ago that he settled his suit with Kanye West.

As a kid, my friends and I used to build ramps to see how far we could jump our bikes - probably inspired by EK.

Rest in piece you crazy man!

RIP to the man who dared to fly.

Thanks EK for all the thrills and entertainment as a child.

How crazy that he died right after he settled his lawsuit, well at least his family won't have to deal with it too.
