Walt's Caboose

Thanks to someone cool, Snowflake, blueerica and I got to ride the Lilly Belle at Disneyland.

Here are some pics:

Here's the Conductor and a family we shared the ride with. Notice the ghostly lens flares above.

Same shot, no flash.

Cool wood inlay.

A picture of a pitcher.

Flower vase.

The onboard liberry.

Lilly's coat.

The carpet. You know, in case anyone was wondering...

Lilly's needlepoint.

blueerica

Snowflake

Me and someone's thumb.

Lilly and her husband.

I must admit, I was all misty-eyed riding the Lilly Belle. What a treat.

Congratulations you guys. I miss all the fun :(

The Lily Belle ISN'T a caboose, she's a parlour car! :p

It's last. It's a caboose.
:D

My Mom always called me the Caboose since I was the last child.

Yay! I'm so glad you guys got to do this.

Too bad you didn't get a picture of the spooky doiley. :D

innerSpaceman 12-17-2007 11:20 PM

There were no spooky doilies in any of my Lilly Belle pics either.

I've been privileged to ride aboard the L. Belle twice. Once due to the same beneficence that graced our select party of deserving swankers yesterday ... and once via a special ticket they were handing out en masse when the car was lovingly restorated and reset on the rails some two years back.

In fact, I still have one of those special tickets ... and I intend to present it one day far in the future for a promised ride.

How awesome GC and company! I think that riding in the Belle is equal to a meal in the Club on the level of uber swank ala Disney. Thanks for sharing!

Sorry GC, I have to be pedantic and agree with Matt. Cabooses were working cars, with a specific function, that were attached only to the ends of freight trains. They were never used for passengers.

Walt's caboose......

Oh, and here I thought this was another part of his body that got frozen along with his head. I mean, shoot, if you're gonna freeze the top, you may as well freeze the bottom, too. You can fill in the rest later.....

;)

Congrats on riding the LillyBelle! I hope to some day.....

*sigh*
