Return of the Bluepeople

Yes, it's official! At long last, I am returning to where I belong- California.

As Goonie said in an earlier post, I will be hailing from the Red Room in Lake Forest while I find a JOB and get established.

I plan to leave in a few weeks, once I've been able to sell off my furniture and get $ together in order to make the cross-country trek. I'm looking for a sustainable income, and any ideas, networking opportunities or assistance would be greatly appreciated. I am a USC grad with 6+ years of administrative assistance experience, 3 of them in the pharmaceutical industry. I have various art and film related skills, too. First and foremost, I just need a job. Please PM me if you think you may have a lead for me, and I'll send you my resume.

Ok, that's it for the shamelessness- for now. *grin* Thanks for listening.

I am SOOO looking forward to seeing you all again! I am sorry I have been so mute these last couple of years--- honestly it's hard to be on here when I don't get to go to the meets or see anyone. That's just how I dealt with being so far away. I'll put my best effort into being around more from now on!

:D

I'll absolutely recommend you to my former office. The pay and benefits are awesome, and you can do a variety of stuff. After you're here, I'll call them and see what positions are open. :)

We'd have you in a nanosecond, but rents in SF would like as not be affordable on a Mythbusting salary. Sorry to say.

I just had my eyes opened wide, and I do realize I live on the fringe of a very nice neighborhood, or ritzy neighborhood, but the 2 bedroom apartment that fronts California Street down the hall from me just rented for (g-a-s-p) $5000.00 a month! At that price for a rental, how bad can a mortgage be?

Ask me, am I thanking heavens that I am in a rent controlled apartment that I've been in for 20 years, you betcha!
