Heath Ledger as The Joker Animated GIFs (Not for Dialup)

R.I.P.

I'd be more impressed if the maker of said gifs knew what a contraction was.

CoasterMatt 01-22-2008 07:58 PM

Me too!

Kevy Baby 01-22-2008 08:45 PM

I'm just not sure it was appropriate to post these today.

innerSpaceman 01-22-2008 09:31 PM

Oh, i dunno. i thought 'inappropriate,' too ... at first.

But is it inappropriate for Gemini Cricket to have changed his avatar to a Brokeback image? I suppose we all know how broken-up G.C. is about this, so we wouldn't for a moment think that anything but a tribute.

Of couse, we all also know how devilishly inappropriate CoasterMatt can be. But i'm willing to go with assuming "tribute" in his own way.

Messed up, dead Joker way.

CoasterMatt 01-22-2008 10:00 PM

I'm looking forward to seeing Heath's take on one of my favorite characters.

I think these images of him doing his craft are far more appropriate than the video of his bodybag being wheeled out of the apartment.

Alex 01-22-2008 11:01 PM

It's ok, Heath don't care.

innerSpaceman 01-22-2008 11:12 PM

Yeah, that bodybag shot is just appalling. See, that's inapprorpriate.

I think the whole Joker thing, especially Heath's portrayal, being kinda creepy - - is what makes reference to it at this creepy time kinda creepy.

But seeing as how the role just became 17 times as significant as it already was (and that was already significant) ... i have to admit that Heath-as-Joker images are just as poignant and appropriate right now as Heath-as-Ennis images.

I have always had high hopes about his Joker performance from the day his casting was announced ... and the Dark Knight teaser trailer only has me more excited about it. Now there's the added element of wanting this one to be iconic and amazing ... so that there's more to Mr. Ledger's greatness in his body of work than just Brokeback Mountain.

Sad to say, though I've enjoyed him in a handful of roles ... he only reached bigtime greatness with Brokeback. And thus was barely coming into his own since then. Obviously, the Joker was going to be his other bigtime role, and i truly hope he goes out on screen with the same level of greatness I'll always rememeber him for as Ennis Del Mar.

His joker reminds me of what either Robert Smith or Marilyn Mansion looks like when they wake up in the morning.

My av's a total tribute. And a pic I hadn't seen before. It's a little different from the famous hug shot the press always shows.
*Sigh*
