Awesome "Sleeveface" project - album covers integrated into photos
This is so cool! Really excellent collection of photographs using people's bodies to "extend" an image on an album cover. Some of them are really trippy and brilliant, you simply must check it out.
(I know most of us are BoingBoing readers, but for those who aren't or who haven't checked recently, I thought I'd post.) Also: I spy creative-swanking, to a record store (or, say, Mousepod's storage unit?) to dig through potential options and contribute to the project. |
Been seeing these on Rocketboom. Love them. I've been waiting for someone to find an album with a locatable scene on it and place and go that route (preferably something more interesting than the obvious NY skyline or similar).

This one is my favorite so far:

Hmmmm, we have over 2k albums in the garage.......

A couple of them were made with CD covers. I think this would help in some cases.

I was hoping to see Frank Zappa's WEASELS RIPPED MY FLESH on one of these. It turned up kind of peripherally in the corner of one photo, but deserves to be showcased. (Alas, I no longer have it on vinyl.)
Wow, record album covers were ART in a way that CD covers just can't be. I miss them, but I don't miss lugging crates of vinyl around. (I have about one crateful left, and that's all.) |
