The Gay Super Bowl...

Or, rather, the 80th Annual Academy Awards. Hello, Oscar!

Ceremony starts 5PM PT, but you're welcome to join us for red carpet at 3. Tasty nutritive substances provided, along with potent potables, less-potent potables and potables which are simply not potent whatsoever.

Please reply to the thread, PM, IM, email, call, write a letter, telegraph, semaphore and/or smoke signal us if you'd like to come and we'll send an Evite to you!

Yay. Everyone dress as their favorite Oscar-nominated film.

or not.

But wooot. Oscar Night Fun!

I've got my ballot printed for the evening. Alas, I won't be with you but in spirit. A small Oscar DO here since Vanity Fair canceled their party, but the food will be good. I'm wearing a sparkly outfit for the ocassion.

Yawn. In the same spirit of peope wondering why the super bowl is such a big deal, I wonder about the Oscars as well. I have no interest in famous people - actors or musicians or whomever - finding occasion to pat each other on the back.

What day of the week is that? Is it a Sunday night?

Alex 02-17-2008 06:11 PM

LSPE, I think that is scaeagle's polite way of saying "sorry, but I have other plans that night and so can't attend your boring-ass party."

I also can't attend but I'm sure it won't be any more boring than the Oscar nominated films I've seen this weekend (Elizabeth 2: Electric Boogaloo, La Vie en Rose, the entire slate of animated shorts).

If I were closer I'd definitely be in, I don't think I've ever watched the Oscars (though that's maybe only one year in four that I watch them at all) with people who've seen enough of the movies to actually have an informed opinion.
