Website Help
I need to slap together a basic website for my upcoming class reunion. Nothing fancy would like the ability to post a decent amount of photos (we have tons from the last reunion). Then I just need to post lists of "missing persons", dates times, contact info and who's coming.
Would love to be able to have a basic message board and the ability for others to post their photos and update stories - but that's not a prioirity. What's a cheap, quick, easy way to do this? Last time I just did it through my netcom account, you got free webspace, but I nixed it so that's gone. I have Time Warner Road Runner and I think I may get some free webspace from that. |
Yes, you get free web space at Time Warner. I believe if you go to timewarnercable.com and look for "My Site" or something like that, it'll get you started. They probably likely have some basic add-ons like a guest book you can use for people to post comments.

Muchas Gracias!

hmm, the "My Web site" link isn't what I thought it was. It's probably through roadrunner.com, not timewarnercable.com. But I don't seem to be able to recall my login info there, so that's as far as I've gotten.

While it seems to be less popular than it was in previous years, a decent place to find classmates, etc are websites like classmates.com and reunion.com. The sites get annoying though, and some of the people who have already sought each other out have possibly exhausted that. Also, social networking sites have been a great place for me to find random people I've been searching for from high school.
Good luck on your page! |

Once I start going into stalking classmates mode I'll be looking for any way possible. My space has a few peeps, I need to look on some of the others. |
Facebook is pretty good, though they may not be on there, since it's only been more recently that they opened the site to non-university (or high school)/non-corporate email addresses.
I can't think of any other good ones. Perhaps Linked In would be a good place to look, which I have been using lately. It's less social networking and more job-related networking. |
