The Lowdown
Decided to take a two-hour road trip to Wendover, NV, to shake off this Utah goody-two-shoe-ness for some good old gambling fun.

Food
Decor
Service

The Plan
Drinks, gambling, etc.

The Juice
Gin & Tonic

The Scene
All in all, it was the decor I liked best: neon & mirrors. I'd go just for that. It was crazy, and my eyes loved it. Not to mention, though the drinks were on the weak side, they came quickly.

Blackjack tables (or as the signs from inside the pit read: BJ Table... I was disappointed when I didn't get a tap on my knees...) were so-so, and the mojo was hard to find on a Sunday afternoon. I suspect that any mojo to be had, in terms of plain ol' fun, would have to be found on Friday or Saturday nights, when people are at their drunkest.

Watch out for the creepy guy in the leather jacket. He will somehow suck the life out of the air around him. And he'll make you play badly.

That is all.

Awww. I read the title of the thread and thought you'd managed a Jamaican getaway.

Oh wow, I wish...

Anyone want to help me out with that? ;)

In other news, we've actually decided to head back.

J, who is a big fan of poker tournaments, wants to have me start doing them. He knows I've never done it, but he said he sees the way I think when we play games and cards at home, and he says I should be really good at it. I've always just been too nervous, but when you think about it, buy-in isn't all that bad, and I play by the book generally, so I should be able to have lasting power, even early on.

Anyway. That'll be next Saturday. I'll let you guys know how that goes.

Good luck BE! That sounds like the best way to get enough money to go to Jamaica. :)
