Nice!

I don't know if this was the first, but it looks like they snagged a joke that has been playing prominently in commercials on Comedy Central for quite a while. In ads for "Little Bush" he's been making a joke about the country not needing a black guy in the White House begging for change.

Heehee, too funny.

Gn2Dlnd 03-19-2008 09:53 PM

It's just that the overriding message for Obama is "let's change! I'm change! We're all chaaaaaaaaanging!"..... which seems about the silliest platform ever. Being for "change" is actually about the most "status quo" platform one can have.

But he is a good speaker!

Cadaverous Pallor 03-20-2008 07:40 AM

"Change" isn't a platform. It's a word, a slogan. Clinton's is "Day One".

"Change" hasn't been a slogan for a presidential candidate in my lifetime, so I'm not sure what you mean by status quo. Bill Clinton wanted to "build a bridge to the 21st century", Bush Sr. looked for "a thousand points of light", Reagan talked about "morning in America" and "are you better off now than you were 4 years ago?" Again, not platforms, slogans.

Just putting apples to apples. :)
