Iron Man
Iron Man...
93% so far on rottentomatoes.com. Interesting. Anyone going to go see it? I thought we'd discuss the big summer movies in their own threads. Just for fun. I know a few people who are going to go see it tomorrow at midnight. I think the trailer is decent. |
I've no desire to be a first responder. But I'm interested if it gets good word-o'-mouth.
I think I'm mostly keen to see it because of Robert Downey, Jr. I know zero about the comic book. |
I'm interested in word of mouth too. So far the few critic types I know who saw it (I couldn't get to it) weren't particularly impressed though they thought it was decent enough dumb fun.
But if I have to pay for it myself I'll probably wait a few years to get it from Netflix. Too many comic book movies this year. The Dark Knight is a must. Indy is a must (I know, not a comic book movie but in the vein) and I'll probably see the new Hulk just to compare it to the Ang Lee monstrosity. And Speed Racer and the next Bond movie fill out my franchise movie dance card for the year. But if word is really good I'll go see it (though that got me in trouble with Superman Returns and The Transformers). |
We'll be seeing it Friday afternoon. I'll let you know what the boy and I think.

Not reading reviews. And I. Can't. Wait.
|
I cannot picture RD Jr. as a badass because he isn't a badass.
|
Cough, Michael Keaton, cough.
|
Michael Keaton as Iron Man? That would be odd.

As far as I'm concerned, Robert Downey, Jr. can be anything he wants to be. If I were a straight man, I'd probably have a man crush on Downey, Jr. |
Something about how Robert Downey Jr looks in the trailer I find off-putting. I don't know why...
