Carly Simon, "I don't consider myself to be not gay."
 

The Bay Area Reporter has an interesting interview with Carly Simon. (especially the last two questions) I had never heard of this aspect of her personality. Am I just totally out of touch or is this news to y'all as well?

News to me.

Well, in her elusive way, she is not saying that she is gay. It is just the kind of nebulous answer that could have easily been given by a straight person who doesn't really give a rip what people think about their sexuality.

Or she just may be a carpet muncher.

Oh, I think she definitely IS saying she's not a 0 on the Kinsey scale. She's just saying it a way so as to obfuscate her words from dolts. You know, didn't you ever play the "not" game? "I'm not not going to sleep at my friend's house tonight..."

But, you know, there are a lot of people who aren't a 0 on the Kinsey scale, but not, you know, consistently or exclusively "gay enough" to merit a coming-out-of-closet.

Carly, I bet you think this thread is about you. Don't you? Don't you?

Yeah, I'm sure Jay Leno will be singing that one eventually...
