Kingdom Comics will soon announce some of the top graphic novelists and artists in the genre who will collaborate on upcoming projects. Disney Publishing Worldwide, the largest distributor of comic books in the world, will have the first opportunity to distribute publications created by Kingdom Comics.

This sucks before it even gets out of the gate. "Largest distributor of comic books in the world?" WTF?

So says the US sales figures for April 2008?

Marvel Comics - 3,311,003 units sold
DC Comics - 2,177,205 units sold
Dark Horse - 363,084 units
Image Comics - 220,675
Gemstone (disney)- 8,485

But then again, Gemstone is owned by Steve Geppi that owns Diamond comics distribution which is the only place to get comics from if you are a retailer which is a whole monopoly in itself. Gemstone, for the past decade has published Disney Comics - so maybe. Hmmmm
