WOW this news was way out of left field. RIP Stan, a man who created beauty out of horror.

Legend in his own time. Going to the movies will never be the same.

The world of practical effects just got smaller.

Oh, I think it will.

Of course, I said that same thing when George Pal died, but then George Pal used to spring for the tickets.

Wow, that's awful. It's been a bad month for large-scale animatronic monsters.

Oh. Man. That smarts. RIP, favorite o' mine.

And Lord knows monsters have a hell of time as it is.

OMG, what the hell. Ok, I have no idea how old Stan Winston was ... but since I've been admiring his work forever, oh, sigh.


In a league of his own, that man was. Yessir.

I'm gonna cry...

Another great artist, in a field that seems to be less and less appreciated, gone.

Time to cue up Edward Scissorhands again.
