I got a report from Yosemite Valley this morning. Lots of haze in the valley and people are packing up and requesting refunds because of the smoke.
|
Yesterday was bad in terms of smoke. Even I finally noticed (I have coworker who lives a couple miles from me and on Wednesday she was bitching the smoke and I said "what smoke?").
|
Hmm maybe I need a trip home. Think of all those firefighters........
|
We have lots of smoke here.
The government is currently requesting a boycot of fireworks for the 4th. |
I don't think that is a bad idea this year.
The news did a story on it last night - Little League and other fund raisers can get over 2 million dollars in 4 days. They don't want to not sell them. They're illegal in a lot of cities around me. Have been for years. I really think that it's far to dry to have fireworks shows that aren't controlled (residential), or over the ocean (even though embers could technically fly). |
Oh Believe me when I say we are really tired of being indoors.
The air is soo still, but the winds are picking up. We are hoping it will all go away by the end of the weekend. The real problem is the central valley is like a pocket. It traps all the air from the mountains and Bay area. The Sun looked like the moon through all of it. |
I really feel for you guys, stuck indoors. Seeing what I've seen {only the webcams from Yosemite} really brought back what I have been through, so, I recall the fear, of so many things. Putting you lives on hold. The colors really mess with you, too. Unreal.
I wondered how Yosemite would do. I mean, you go to do outdoor things but you really shouldn't be outside nor should the employees. I wonder how wildlife is doing? Firemen. :p Yes, maybe you do need to go up and help make sure they are hydrated and if they need anything....;) |
