RtS: SFMOMA - Frida Kahlo
Rank the Swank - Museums and Sights

Happily, as a MOMA member tickets are dirt cheap and can be had almost as a walk-in. The downside is, the exhibit will be crowded. The bottom line, it's worth it. The only downside I can see would be attending, as I did, on a Thursday night. That is half price evening and the place was swamped. All the docents I ran across were all Latin, so it was fun to speak to them, as I could. The juxtaposition of the Latinos (with babes in arms, in some cases) all examining the paintings and photos excitedly, and then the gringos (me excepted) wearing the damned headsets and following the exhibit like drones was rather funny to me. No photography allowed, needless to say, but I had hoped to sneak in a shot of one of the rooms full of people. This iconic self-portrait is the "face" of the exhibition. ![]() It's one of my favorites. Here are a couple of others: ![]() ![]() SF MOMA has a wonderful collection of art and that I can walk to this exhibit from my office is a real treat for me. I'm more than willing to go to this as many times as I can until it closes in September. So if anyone wants to swing on by, let me know and I will secure cheap tickets for the time of choice.:birdy: |
Oops, would a mod be so kind as to change the title to RtS SFMOMA - Frida Kahlo?
