Hung my Flag outside this morning. Happy 4th to all!

Kevy Baby 07-04-2008 09:00 AM

I think I'll go to Disneyland - I hear it is slow on the 4th

BarTopDancer 07-04-2008 09:26 AM

Nothing says happy birthday America like blowing stuff up.

The National Archives has an interesting site on the Declaration of Independence.

The hand print in the lower left corner intrigues me. Whose was it? One of the signers? An anonymous government clerk? We'll never know.

Sorry. This is the one I meant to point to.

Happy 4th everyone!

I'll be spending the morning cleaning for guests that are arriving in the morning. Then I'll be lugging musical gear for the remainder of the afternoon so we can play tonight before the fireworks. Then I'll be lugging gear again.

Not exactly the rest and relaxation I would have preferred. :)

Yep...blowing up things is the Wolfpack's tradition!

Happy Birthday USA!

Happy 4th of July, Fellow Americans!

Blow your fireworks up, eat BBQ and drink beer.

Yeehaw!

:)

On the other hand, here's something George Carlin wants us to think about:
Quote:

“We were founded on a very basic double standard. This country was founded by slave owners who wanted to be free. Am I right? A group of slave owners who wanted to be free, so they killed a lot of white English people in order to continue owning their black African people, so they could wipe out the rest of the red Indian people and move west and steal the rest of the land from the brown Mexican people, giving them a place to take off and drop their nuclear weapons on the yellow Japanese people. You know what the motto of this country ought to be? You give us a color, we’ll wipe it out.”
:D

Now let us take time from our busy Independence Day and sit and watch a stirring, heartwarming version of Stars and Stripes Forever!

Stan4dSteph 07-04-2008 10:38 AM

I celebrated by having a croissant and coffee for breakfast. Do I have to surrender my US passport?

I did share the magic of Funfetti Stars and Stripes cupcakes with the French.
