Star Trek: the Experience
 

Again, thanks to the Wil Wheaton blog...

It's closing.

Though I've seen and done it more times than probably necessary and wasn't planning on going any time soon, it's still a sad event. :(

That's a bummer. Only did it once. Loved the Borg one. The original one gave me a horrid headache.

We've been to it three times. But each time we just look at the gift shop and the restaurant and decide we're not interested enough to pay $1.3 million for the full experience.

Glad I'm heading to Vegas tonight.

I'm going to miss Quarks. I really loved the food and atmosphere.

Looks like I have no reason to visit the Hilton again.

Man, and I never did have a Warp Core Breach...

At least according to the article, Paramount is going to try to find a new home for the Experience.

I vote for SoCal. Then, I can have a Borg Sphere anytime I want. ;)

I think near Hollywood and Highland would be ideal, and would probably draw the visitors needed.

Yep, I heard this last night. A bunch of my friends are planning to go before September 1 ... but I doubt I'll make that.

So me and zapp are going to hit it this weekend! Last Hurrah of Don't Live Long but Prosper.

This is a major disappointment for me.

I've been indoctrinating my kids on Star Trek. We're in the middle of season 3 of The Next Generation. They love it and we've been having a lot of fun watching it together. And with this year's big family vacation being at Walt Disney World, I was hoping to take them to Star Trek: The Experience sometime next year. There's no room in the budget to make an impromptu jump down there before Sept 1.

I hope a new home is found.

I heard about this a bit ago and was sad. When we went to Quark's right after we got married the four of us (me, B, and our witnesses) shared a Warp Core Breach. Loved the look of the drink -- dry ice or something, and a way cool glass -- but it tasted truly horrible, like gatorade. We didn't finish it. But we bought the glass, and I keep flower petals that B has given me in it.:)
