Hey Tom Waits fans!
 

Just today, NPR has made available an entire two hour and twenty minute recording of Tom Waits' recent Glitter and Doom tour concert. You can download it at iTunes or check it out here. Amazingly, this is FREE! (There are lots of other great free concerts on this podcast as well, but this is the one that I just about screeched when I saw it was there.) I've never had the opportunity to see Waits live, but boy, I'm sure up for a freebie like this! :D

Thank you!!!! I'm still very upset LA was not a stop on his recent tour. I've never seen him live and was looking forward to a concert. Alas, it was not to be.

It's a wonderful concert! and I'd rather hear Waits' shredded growl sing these songs than Scarlett Johanson purring them any day.

Very cool! And the Spiritualized concert went up on the same day. Sweet.

I'm currently listening to the Spiritualized© concert that was recorded 5 days ago. It's a "wall of sound" show, as opposed to the acoustic gig we saw last year at the Vista. I'm both excited that we're getting to see such a show at the Hollywood Bowl, and disappointed to learn that they are going to be the opening band before Cat Power, which might force them to do an abbreviated set - the show on NPR approaches the 2-hour mark.
