A bit of a misleading headline. These weren't character CMs in the park wearing Disney costumes. These were hotel CMs demonstrating outside the park wearing their own, non-official costumes.

Yes. Some were in costumes (as in Disney employee uniforms) and some were in costumes (store bought Disney brand costumes for consumers).

Adrienne Vincent-Phoenix's coverage of the protest.

Worst Mickey ever!

I found this interesting (from AVP's article):

I read this as "we are not happy with the contract we negotiated." Are the employees at the other hotels making $2.50/hour more getting the same health insurance that Disney Hotel employees are getting?

I don't know... do you remember the one that €uroMeinke had as an avatar for a while?

I friggin hate the news. Already, I've gotten a call from someone, saying, "Did you hear that Disneyland's characters were arrested? They took Tinkerbell and Mickey and others!" So, I looked it up online while on the phone and then said, "Um. Those are protesters wearing very poorly made costumes. Those aren't official characters." The response I got - "No, the news said that they're Disney characters! Disneyland must really be upset. This is going to be bad publicity for them. I wonder if they have enough characters for the park still?"

I hate the friggin news. It enables stupid people to think they have "knowledge".

Yet another example about how terrible the media is today. I am hating them more and more each and every day.

Kevy, I think the point is, Disney is taking away the health bennies now, AND they make less than all the other hotels.

Yeah, the news teasers would make you believe that, it isn't till you get into the articles that you find out it's just protesters... who happen to be CMs
