John Horney let go from WDI

I found this out yesterday and reported it on fabsboards.com - Jim Hill will have more information up later.

Forgive my innocence here, but what was his role?

innerSpaceman 09-04-2008 02:37 PM

Yes, um, WHO?

Fab 09-04-2008 02:37 PM

He's an artist, one of the few Golden Agers left. Was one. Hope to still see him do occasional work for the mouse (and hope he charges them more). We met him first at the "Mounatins" signing. He's infamous for his biting, satirical timesheets.

For Disney insiders, this is HUGE news. Bad news.

Oh. From the name I thought he was a porn star or something.

Sorry.

It is sad to see another oldtimer let go. :(

I got more info from Jim. He tells me that John is officially retiring, but working as a consultant. Make of that what you will, but a great artist is now on the market.

Is it possible that he actually is retiring? Perhaps he realy is tired of working after half a century.....
