A night in Hearst Castle

A nonprofit group is auctioning off on eBay a night at Hearst Castle. Only one couple gets to stay the night, but up to eight friends can join for the day's activities:

Quote:

You and your friends will experience a private museum director’s behind-the-scenes tour, a relaxing swim in the Neptune pool, mellowing martinis and hors d’oeuvres in W.R.’s own wine cellar, an extravagant multi-course gourmet feast, paired to perfection with premium Central Coast wines served on the Neptune Terrace, a full-length movie in Hearst’s private theatre, after dinner cigars and brandy overlooking the breathtaking Pacific Ocean and so much more. You and your partner will then spend the night in the Castle’s south wing with a terrace view of the Pacific coastline glistening under a canopy of stars. Historians tell that Castle architect Julia Morgan slept in the same room in 1934.

So who's in? We just need to come up with $100,000.

If they're going to show one very specific movie in that private theater I'd almost be interested in ponying up something. Not sure why they can't let 10 people sleep there, I'm pretty sure there's room for them.

That one movie would make it that much more special.

Yeah, a Citizen Kane & Eddie Murphy's Haunted Mansion double feature would really rock. ;)

(Actually, Citizen Kane and The Haunting would be f'in cool).

Perhaps because it's easier to keep an eye on two people rather than 10?

As a representative of the top 0.1% richest people in the world I'll say "we're ok with that."

But I'm still not spending $100k to sleep in an old house where I won't be able to look through the cabinets and drawers unsupervised.

Only because you feel excluded from their club. :)
