More Interesting Events coming to the Edison

Anyone else interested in any of these?

innerSpaceman 09-19-2008 07:01 PM

Yes, though my October is one of the most insane ever ALREADY.

I want me some Lucent Dossier.

I want 2001 just because I think that poster is so freaking ultra cool.

I gotta admit the Radio Room sounds cool, too. Ugh, Tuesday.

If I had to choose between the two cabarets, I'm more keen on seeing Lucent Dossier, though I know I'm the last one on earth to catch them.

I'm interested in the Tuesday Night Cabaret and I'm always up for more Lucient Dissoer (even though God-Like Man is God-Like Airheaded Man IRL).

2001 and more Lucent Dossier. I just wish Lucent Dossier was on a night other than freakin' Wednesday

It would be nice if there was really cool stull like this in the weekends, but my suspicion is that weekends are already popular at the venue and they're trying to get a good crowd on other nights. That is a HUGE space and must be expensive to operate.

The corollary to the above is that these weekday events make it easier to get past the velvet rope and enjoy the place/event

From my favorite LA food blog:

Quote:

Chains aren’t the only ones using the economic downturn as a marketing crutch. Edison will start “The Soup Kitchen” on Fridays (5pm-7pm) bringing “Depression Era cocktails at Depression Era prices.” The “Your 401K” is served in a tall glass with a card that reads, “Is your glass half empty or full?,” and “The Bail Out,” is some bourbon concoction. Drinks are 35 cents, plus free grilled cheese melts and tomato soup for more substantial comforting. 25% of sales go to local food banks and charities.

That's awesome. I want a Bail Out. But I could NEVER make it to the Edison by 7pm on a Friday.

I'm bummed I missed all these events. I truly intended to attend one or two ... but that was before my October turned into an all-consuming project of love.

Disneyphile 10-16-2008 02:40 PM

Dude, if I worked downtown, I'd be there every Friday. :snap:

CoasterMatt 10-16-2008 02:42 PM

I could easily get there every Friday - but getting home would get difficult.
