GOOP: The most ridiculous celebrity vanity project ever?

http://goop.com/

F*!k you, Gwyneth Paltrow.

The thing is some people will visit this site and hope to become somehow magically Gwynified. Perhaps they, too, can learn to rearrange their molecules, like Gwyneth apparently learned from Madonna.

Also, FYI, but if you can only launch a site with content that is exactly (or nearly exactly) the same in every section, you should postpone until you have something to actually offer. In this case, I think she would have done humanity a service by postponing the launch of GOOP indefinitely.

Also, Gwyn, if you don't mind me calling you Gwyn, GOOP is not what makes life good. GOOP is what covers a prostitute after a long night of Johns and pimp beatings. GOOP = prostitute bagel smear.

"Whether you want...the recipe I made up this week, or some thoughts from one of my sages, GOOP is a little bit of everything that makes up my life."

A site about everything that makes up Gwyneth Paltrow's life. It's like listening to someone else talk about their shaggy dog dreams. Pointless.

Disclaimer:
I actually like her as a performer and have enjoyed many of her movies. She even has a lovely singing voice.

Reminds me of "Living Oprah", a person who is trying, for one year, to literally follow every piece of advice Oprah gives. What to read, what to wear, what to buy. They know it's an absurdist pursuit, obviously, which is exactly what they hope to get across. The fact that, unless you ARE Oprah and have functionally unlimited funds and an army of personal assistants, it's lunacy to try to live up to the lifestyle of the stars we're supposed to admire.

I saw GD's new avatar and wondered, "Why does Greg have a picture of Ron Jeremy for his avatar?"

Pornstache.

Skinny, pretty, youngish, rich, famous women with publicists, personal assistants and household staffs should just button it.

Especially if their tummies are flat even after giving birth. Just shut the bleep up.

Hmm, methinks you are being a little hard on poor Ms. Paltrow. If she believes she has something worthy to share, well, OK, I don't have a problem with that. Of course, I will not be checking back to see exactly what that may be, but, then I don't think she is necessarily reaching out to people such as myself.

Not to be contrary about everything here, but I like the name Goop and would never have thought to associate it with male seminal fluid (which, in itself, would not be limited to prostitution and bagels). Indeed, I associate Goop with quality websites that give me helpful kitchen hints and recipes and such. I could be wrong, but I think its also describes an unsavory character, which was, perhaps, intended to be little ironic.

But that is just me and what the hell do I know?
