Another Great Director Gone
 

Like "Gone With The Wind," "Deep Throat" was best appreciated on the big screen. I first saw it with my girlfriend at a theatre on Broadway during our farewell trip to San Francisco when I was 18 and about to go to Berkeley.

She's a lesbian now. Or so she says.

So let us say RIP Gerard Damiano and lament how the video industry has killed porn.

Actually, Deep Throat bored me silly. I do remember being at a college party and someone had rented his puppet-porn movie Let My Puppets Come. Years later, when I saw Peter Jackson's Meet the Feebles, I couldn't help but remember that Damiano had been there first.

I laughed at one scene in Deep Throat when Harry Reams was performing cunnilingus on a female actress (not Linda Lovelace).

"Do you mind if I smoke while you're eating?"

The movie (Deep Throat) in and of itself is not a great porn movie, but it was ground breaking.

Despite the amount of money that the movie made, Damiano didn't see much of it due to the mob.

Haven't seen it.

But still, a landmark moment in sexual expression. :cheers:

It was intended to be humourous and campy. Like I said; it's not a great film, but definitely worth a watch just to get the historic experience.
