MOCA in financial crisis

Story here. Apparently it is bad enough that Moca is considering selling off its entire collection or merging itself into LACMA and giving up all of its downtown gallery space.

A scathing attack by the LA Times art critic on the Museum's trustees here.

This article is slightly more upbeat - it says leaders in the LA arts scene are rallying around the Museum.

Bah - they're closing the temporary for 6 months? That's the best part of MOCA - I's sell off the Grand Location before I resorted to that. Guess I better make use of my membership while I still can

Holy ****. Why didn't we know about this sooner?

We should be happy their current plans ONLY include closing the Geffen (my favorite art space in the whole city) for only 6 months. Seems like with the proposed MOCA-LACMA merger its spark-in-the-dark may be lost forever.

The art critic's opinion piece is spot-on. WTF are they thinking?
