How to get online in rural Mexico
Does anyone have any experience in getting someone online in rural Mexico.
They do not have electricity - they use a generator. There is no phone service or cell phone coverage. Is there such a thing as a satelite internet card? Any other ideas? |
Satellite internet might work, if they have coverage in that area. We use wild blue in Colorado. There is a bit of latency, but it works fine for email/internet browsing.

There are global cell phones that also act as modems. And there are probably global broadband cards. I'm checking with my Verizon informant to see if they offer anything. I suspect AT&T and T-Mobile would since they are global companies, but the issue would be getting coverage in that area.

I would also add a good UPS to allow for power fluctuations from the generator. |
