Your Top 5 CDs at the moment?
I can't answer yet, since I need to do a lot of listening of the new stuff I just bought. But, I thought I throw out the question for y'all anyways. It's always fun to talk music.
You can answer more than once over time, as these things DO change. ;) |
This week it's:
Tilly and the Wall - Wild Like Children Bright Eyes - Lifted or The Story Is in the Soil, Keep Your Ear to the Ground Joanna Newsom - Milk-Eyed Mender Arcade Fire - Funeral A mix cd a friend of a friend made me for my last birthday, that's chock full of Klesmer music, Romaly tunes, Indian ditties, etc. It's a perfect, perfect, lovely international mesh. If my heart could be burned onto a cd, it might sound a lot like this cd. |
Josh One, Narrow Path
Kinky, debut album (dug it back out, man do I love this album) Madaline Peyroux, Careless Love Beck - Guero, even though I've only heard one track from it, once. That was enough to tell me that it's awesome Oingo Boingo, Boingo (their final album) because that album is never out of the top 5 for me. |
Prior to the recent aquisitions, it has been:
Propellerheads - Spybreak Dave Arnold Bond film remixes Portishead - First album Cibo Mato - Viva! La Woman Talking Heads - Remain in Light |
Rickie Lee Jones, Pirates (It's been on the list for 20 some odd years, it's never coming off)
Ben Folds Five, Whatever and ever Amen Tricky, Maxinquaye Bright Eyes, Lifted Miles Davis, Kind of Blue |
Manson ~ Mechanical Animals
Manson ~ Lest We Forget U2 ~ Best of 80s-90s Eminem ~ Eminem Show Green Day ~ American Idiot |
High iPod rotation (as of 3.29.05):
Shena Ringo - "Chlorine Semen Chestnut Blossoms" David Bowie - "Stage" (the new reissue) Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds - "B-Sides and Rarities" The Wedding Present - "Take Fountain" The Fiery Furnaces - "Blueberry Boat" Louis Jordan - "Let The Good Times Roll - The Complete Decca Sessions" I tried to keep it to 5, honest... |
Not too long ago I had a 6 month CD at 2.4%, but I've never had 5 CDs.
Oh....wrong CD. Sorry. |
I feel like such a dork in this thread...
Tori Amos - Under the Pink - import version - The Bee sides Wicked - Broadway Cast recording Cecilia Bartoli - (Se tu m'ami ), 18th-Century Italian Songs Erasure - Pop! Live - Throwing Copper |
1- Cris Williamson- she's coming for a couple concerts in the area soon. I love her album Ashes. It's a break-up album but so pretty.
2- Green Day, American Idiot. 3- Fenians, Band of Rogues. Lively Irish music. 4- Shakira, Laundry Service. Upbeat Latina music. 5- Israel Kamakawiwo'ole. Hawaiian. Gotta love it! |
