Lashbear-In-A-Kilt... Coming soon to a Workplace near you !

Greetings !!

I have recently ordered my first kilt, and hope the experience (and end product) will be satisfactory. I'm sure it will be, from the prompt response by the shop-owner.

Background (AKA Why do you want to wear a kilt?):

I am adopted, and my birth surname was Graham. I have red-blonde hair and fair complexion, and I like Haggis - so I therefore suspect that there is a bit of the Scot in me. Not knowing entirely who my father was makes this all the more mystery, but also makes the fact harder to disprove as well.

I have noticed that a lot of larger guys (ahem) look really good in Kilts. I have always toyed with the idea of getting one until recently...

Our work has a Casual Dress Month going at present. There were disagreements between factions as to whether 3/4 length pants are shorts, as shorts are banned. The final decree was passed, and... No shorts OR 3/4 pants allowed.

I feel the heat badly. If I have to wear full length trousers in an office in summer, I perspire, er, glow, er, sweat like a pig. BUT... the boss agreed with me and said "I would love to see you come in wearing a kilt". I have confirmed several times that I have ordered the kilt, and that I will be wearing it in the office as regular office wear. Soooo...

I have coming in the new year a Pure Wool 5-yard casual kilt made in Graham of Menteith Tartan, (the blue, not the red one) and a plain leather sporran from St Kilda Australia.

YES - I will be wearing it at Disneyland. Anyone have a riding-crop I can borrow? :D

I've never cared that much for dress kilts. (And I hate those frou-frou socks!) I think great kilts are much more manly looking.

I have a kitty named Haggis, Lash. She is an itty-bitty Scottish Fold, and a more foul tempered cat would be hard to find. She is very cute, though. Her full name is Haggis Matilda Stewart McCat.:D

lash AND wendybeth - I want pictures! (scottish folds are SO cute!)

ETA - If it ain't Scottish, it's CRAP!

Can't wait to see pics. :) If I'd known you had a Clan in mind I would have picked up a Graham scarf when we were there! As it is, I probably bought the "Rape and Pillage Clan" scarf.

I finally officially joined my clan (Campbell) when we were at the Seaside Highland Games in October. Our kilt is the "Black Watch." I've got all the gear including the fun frilly shoes and socks :D . I'm also taking highland drumming lessons...woo!

A utilikilt is not a kilt.
