Can You Spare Some Bacon For A Good Cause?

As many of you know I spend a lot of time volunteering for the Special Needs Schools of Gwinnett a Private school for special needs children in my area. Every year I DJ and put on a Valentine's Day Sock Hop for the students and their families. Last year the Hop ended up raising $500 after cost. Even though this is meant more as an extra-curricular activity I would like to raise the bar higher to $750 or even $1,000 after cost. The event has grown popular as a tradition and I expect another packed house. If we can get enough donations to cover the cost I think the goal can be met.

What is our cost? Compared to other bigger ticket fundraisers it is quite low. All we need to purchase s pizza, chips, and drinks. trophies for dance contests, and prizes for the raffle. The space used is a church fellowship hall and that is donated.

Would anyone be willing to "spare some bacon" to help the effort or donate a prize or two? Typical raffle prizes are gift cards to local restaurants or places like Wal Mart of Best Buy. I also try to get a few boxes from Groovy Candies Anything retro is pretty cool.

I can understand if no one is willing. Times are tough for all of us these days. I'm just giving it a shot. No one will open the door if you don't knock first to turn the phrase.

Thanks for reading and to anyone who can "spare some bacon!"

Maybe you could open up a PayPal account where we can drop a few slices in? Then you can turn around and get the gift cards, etc, that you know people will like?

I would be able to donate a few pieces of bacon that way, or some way similar. :)

Thanks,

A Fantastic idea. I'll get working on that right now. Stay tuned for an update!

I would like to thank the two donors of bacon from the bottom of my heart. the event is tomorrow and it looks like we will bring in more than we did last year! For those of you who might have wanted to donate but didn't have any bacon to spare, there is another chance. On April 25th we are putting on a car show in the school's parking lot and some of the same things we desired this go around will be desired again.

I'll keep y'all up to date!

Thank you very much - Between y'all and another donor (not on this board) $135.00 of bacon was procured. You guys rock! :)
