That's interesting, but boy, Benson as a show sure wasn't much. I used to watch it, but I think even back in the day, it wasn't a show I expected much from, just acceptable time-killer. Robert Guillaume has a fine delivery, but the material is awfully insipid. At least I've awakened that catchy theme song in my conscious memory again.

If I recall correctly it was either a Friday or Saturday night show....so your description as acceptable time-killer probably was right on the money.

Me, I liked it...wasn't among my favorite shows but it certainly had it's moments.
