Charles Darwin was born on this day in 1809, so this marks the 200th anniversary of his birth. This year is also the 150th anniversary of the publication of "Origin of the Species".

I plan on celebrating by continuing to not be suckered in by the pseudoscience knows as "intelligent design", listening to my favorite podcast, The Skeptics' Guide to the Universe, and re-reading "Ten Major Flaws of Evolution - A Refutation" by Steven Novella.

How will you celebrate?

I'm going to celebrate by writing a letter to Steven Novella telling him I'm pretty sure that he's not supposed to be writing non-fiction.

I drew this a couple weeks ago.

*whew* I thought this was going to be the day we all go out and challenge the laws of natural selection (ala: Darwin Awards).

Maybe I'll watch The Fall tonight. Charles Darwin is a featured character ... um, sort of.

Sigh. This actually ticks me off. Adds fuel to the, "Science is just another form of religion" fallacy.
