Pepsi Throwback

Pepsi to begin bottling "throwback" editions with actual sugar instead of corn syrup:

In the middle of April, PBV also will begin distributing Pepsi Throwback and Mountain Dew Throwback, which features those brands formulated with sugar.
What do you think? Who cares or this is the day you've been waiting for? :coffee:

Awesome! :snap:

Dublin Dr. Pepper (made with real sugar) is da bomb! So I think there is hope.

Mountain Dew with real sugar might cause anaphylactic shock.

BarTopDancer 02-16-2009 12:27 PM

I hope they aren't as expensive as Coke with sugar.

BDBopper 02-16-2009 12:35 PM

If I am going to drink a soda...and I haven't in quite awhile..I'd rather drink one with real sugar.

lashbear 02-16-2009 12:39 PM

BOO! Sugar? Give me Phenylalanine any day !!

Gn2Dlnd 02-16-2009 01:02 PM

I assume that the cost of sugar cane has become competitive with corn syrup, with corn being used more and more for fuel.

Corn syrup is pretty evil stuff, so, I guess I come down on the pro-sugar side. Still won't be buying the sodas, though.

1) Who cares? (Since it was an option.)

2) Hurray! Now let's tax it like tobacco to pay for public health.

Jazzman 02-16-2009 02:26 PM

Awesome! They shouldn't call it "Throwback" though. They should label it "Organic," so all the hippies and greenies will clamor for it.

Is that available as a choice where you live and does it really cost more? I heard that Kosher-for-Passover Coke is made with sugar. The bottles have yellow caps and the Pepsi has white caps.

Has anyone had it and is it yummy?
