Amazing Race 14

The premier was last Sunday, is anyone else watching?

Alex 02-17-2009 02:01 PM

Yes.

Stan4dSteph 02-17-2009 02:20 PM

I am also.

I have it recorded but haven't actually made it to watching it yet, so i guess that's a Yes.

I was happy to see the type 2's (bickering couple) leave early this go round. I always hate watching them more than the whiners.

The type 3's (Brother/Sister) are off to an OK start, they just seem to be trying too hard at this stage, with things like the train story.

The type 4's (Bumpkins) have all of the backwoods attitude and none of the charm. I'll be rooting for them to get the boot next.

Type 5's (Sisters) I'm cautiously optimistic about. I liked it when the 4 was smack talking to them on the dam, and their response was along the lines of: Yeah but we'll still beat you to the bungee jump.

Type 6's (unusual) I'm grooving on these guys so far. They have a great attitude and do their own stunts. I hope they hang around for a bit.

Type 7's (Challenged) Fairly neutral at this point. As long as they don't keep relating everything to his being deaf they can stay.

The 8's (old folks) appear fairly benign, they can also stay for now.

The 9's (Stewardess) seem a bit bitchy, If they go I won't shed a tear.

The 10's (Blonde's) I'm also fairly neutral on at this point. We'll see.

And the 11's (Gay's) look to be a mismatched pair. Dad seems to have a level head on his shoulders, but the kid seems like an incredible introvert and I predict that will end them in trouble at some point.

I've missed the previous thirteen seasons so there probably is no way I could make heads or tails of the fourteenth.

Just watched it (yay Tivo!) - I mostly agree with Moonie, except for the last one - I somehow don't think actor/writer/producer Mike White is going to get in trouble for being an introvert.

Just watching watch what little they showed I don't see him jumping out of taxi's flagging down random strangers asking for directions, yelling at people in train stations to find the right track, etc.... He seems to be centered around "self". It's just the first episode however and that's all I'm basing this on.

Teams race around the world stopping here and there to complete random tasks like moving 200 lbs of cheese wheels down a steep/slippery hill. The last team to check in at the end of a leg gets the boot. In terms of making heads of tails of it, It ain't masterpiece theater. ;)

I'm finally caught up. I'm glad the hillbillies got the boot. It actually hurt me to watch them because I saw my(old)self in every one of her stupid, whiny reactions and experience translated many of his actions as threats. Un. Healthy.

Love the stunt guys. They're probably my favorites. Wanted to root for the lawyer siblings, but they're way too annoying. I like the bionic mom, too.
