Blackberry Curve 8310

I asked this question on Facebook but I thought I'd ask it here too....

It appears a Blackberry Curve (8310) from AT&T might be in my future. I need a new phone and I have a friend who used to work there. He has offered to sell me his. Does anyone have it. Is it good?
