The "I Love Natasha Richardson" Thread

So, reports have been confusing, (some have her as already brain dead and about to be taken off life support, others are less gloomy) - but it's clear that Natasha Richardson is very seriously injured, and may not make it. So, I just wanted to say, whatever happens, I adore this actor!

I developed a huge crush when she played Mary Shelley in Ken Russell's Gothic, but my favorite performance of hers by far is Sally Bowles in the Sam Mendes revival of Cabaret. I didn't get to see it (alas) but the cast recording is a revelation - in my book it's the definitive take on this, one of my very favorite shows.

Anyway, I hope that this somehow turns the corner from horrible to hopeful.

Sad news, indeed.

It is very sad. I have seen so many conflicting reports it makes you wonder what really happened. The latest says she was on the bunny slope, i thought that was the safest! I'm glad her mother has come to be with her.

Any fall can have bad results if you land wrong. And it is possible that a relatively minor fall exacerbated an existing unknown condition.

I wish her and her family all possible best, but I have to admit I have no idea who she is.

I love Natasha Richardson and I've been trying to keep up on the news of her condition since yesterday. I HOPE that the gloomy reports are wrong, but who knows.

I loved Natasha Richardson as the Vicar's young wife, Alice Keach, in A Month in the Country. It's not an easy film to find, I have it on ancient VHS. It is such a beautiful, quiet movie. The book is also wonderful. To me, she gave a performance that was just perfect, and she was very young at the time -- I think it was made in the late 80's.

45 is just too young to die. I really hope she recovers.

She also played the mom is Disney's remake of The Parent Trap.

She played Sally Bowles in the recent revival of Cabaret co-starring Alan Cumming.
