Yamabuki to close April 11

From OC Register blog:

Disney officials announced Thursday afternoon that Yamabuki restaurant, inside the Paradise Pier Hotel will close down April 11.
Some 39 hourly employees who work at the restaurant were informed of the pending closure during a closed-door meeting around 4 p.m. Thursday.
Disney spokeswoman Suzi Brown said the company will work to relocate the employees to other park restaurants. Those who cannot be placed elsewhere will receive at least 60 days pay as severance and an extension of some health care benefits.

I'll miss this place.

I never got to try this place. How was it?

Went there once. Didn't like it. Won't notice it's passing.

Next.

(And when will they put Naples out of our misery?)

It was okay. It was generally a bit more high-end, traditional than I want when I'm at the park. Plus, for me it has some specific and intense "ex" memories, so I've no urge to eat there again.

Thing is, there might not be a next, just an empty space.

Yeah, forgive me, but I wouldn't really notice an empty space at the Paradise Pier hotel. Not exactly Resort Central.

All the empty spaces in Downtown Disney, on the other hand, are getting to be quite noticeable. But why, oh-why, can't one of them be Naples?

So I'm guessing you don't like Naples?

SzczerbiakManiac 03-27-2009 03:53 PM

I've only eaten at Naples three times, but it was always a pleasant experience. Why don't you like Naples?

It's iSm... he doesn't like anything

Ghoulish Delight 03-27-2009 03:56 PM

I've eaten at Naples twice. Awful both times. Terrible service. Cold food, though even if it had come out at the right temperature, it was not very good food anyway.
