Where can I get rid of..........

I have a whole set, dishes, bowls, candlesticks etc of Franscicanware Autumn pattern dishes. Anyone know of a dealer in either the LA, San Diego or Bay Areas that buy these. I know there is always Replacements but it will cost a fortune to even get them there. The other areas I can drive them there.

Also I've got a large number of random coins. Any idea where to figure out if they're worth keeping or a good place to sell them?

We're only getting started here today so I'll have more questions as the day goes on.

What's the test to see if pearls are real? Rub them on your teeth or something?

Put them in vinegar. If they dissolve they were real.

But yes, if you rub them on your teeth and they feel grainy rather than smooth then that is a good sign they're real.

But if they do feel smooth, they may still be real as they may have been treated with something that smooths out the graininess.

Take the pearls to a reputable jeweler.

I'd buy your Franciscan in a second, but Bill would kill me. (I am to vintage dishwear what Lisa is to cats.)

Lisa has a fondness for vintage dishwear also....remember the garage sale?

Not like mine. Ask Bill....

When I was a kid my friend's dad owned a coin store. I bet there are some still around but it's best to be knowledgeable. I'll ask my mom to contact a cousin who is a coin collector to see how to identify the coins.

Ebay is your friend anytime you want to get a price quote on, well pretty much anything....

I replaced parts of my mom's china set through a website that let you connect with sellers and buy as many individual pieces as you want. Like eBay but they had everything china, all organized. It was years ago...
