NHL 2009 Playoffs
It's payoff time, and since the Washington Capitols are currently the only sports franchise in the city that doesn't suck, they get a thread about them:
GO CAPS! Of course we all know where BTD's loyalties lie but are there any other NHL fans out there in LoT land? |

I believe she's a Sharks fan.

Har har har. Oh the irony of the Ducks playing the Sharks in the first round of the playoffs.
When I made that call the Sharks were on fire and the Ducks didn't even look like they were going to make the playoffs. The Sharks are still on fire, but the pressure they are under after being the division leader and Presidents Trophy winner is immense. And the Ducks did a 180 with their play after the trade deadline. It's going to be an interesting series; especially after the last game against SJ. GO DUCKS GO! Quote:
On the off chance you were serious, I am a huge Ducks fan - have a season seat and everything. No band-wagoning here. I am so excited that someone else started an NHL thread! |
Yeah, I thought you were a Ducks fan, BTD. Your post about the Sharks confused me, is all.

Go Sharks! |
My cheese is sad. :(
The Caps lost their opener by a goal. |
I used to be an avid hockey fan, but in the business of life it is something that has fallen by the wayside of the day to day.
I do think hockey players are studs and tremendous athletes. |
Hockey players ARE studs. Mmmmrowr!

Hockey's a great game to watch.
However . . . it is the only major sport where the participants occasionally get arrested. If we play the "What if they were black?" game, I imagine many would have a different view of its fisticuffian culture, use of terms like "enforcer," slovenly playoff beards and superstitious refusal to touch the Cup. |
Good Luck Ducks!
Hey that rhymes. |
