The Disturbed Right-Winger Rampages Thread

As they're getting more and more frequent, I thought they needed their own thread.

Here's the latest.

Never mind.

I'll just suffice it to say that there are disturbed people in all areas of society.

Disturbed murderers, scaeagles?

I'm not cataloguing this stuff, but I don't recall many violent killers being of liberal bent.

Could be my selective memory, I admit. Is there a case study or something?

CoasterMatt 04-27-2009 07:31 PM

I think there was more disturbed people in the comments portion of that link than anybody involved in the actual situation.

John Wayne Gacy had aspirations of going into politics and worked with the Democratic township committeeman where he lived. I suppose I could dig more and find examples, just as anyone could about pretty much any group.

Dan White of the "twinkie defense" was a democrat city supervisor in San Francisco who murdered the mayor of San Francisco. Edited to add - Good lord - he killed Harvey Milk, too, didn't he? But I suppose just because he was a democrat doesn't mean he was a leftist....just like someone who was disturbed about Obama becoming President doesn't mean he voted for McCain or is even a right winger.

I could come up with probably hundreds just as anyone could about the right. Or any group.

I'm guessing the guy who killed four cops up here last month wasn't a Republican. But that is just profiling on my part.

scaeagles 04-27-2009 07:47 PM

I've been doing a bit of looking around and I can find PLENTY of left leaning murderers out there just here in AZ.

Not Afraid 04-27-2009 08:21 PM

I'm sure there are as many left wing whakjobs out there as right ones.

flippyshark 04-27-2009 08:23 PM

I've gotta side with scaeagles here - this kind of dangerous crazy can happen to people of all classes and persuasions. In this particular case, it sounds like the man's political views were fueled by paranoia, and it's the paranoia that made him dangerous, not his (pseudo)-conservatism. He probably would have been toxic no matter where he was coming from politically. And the issue that drove him to murderous rage was apparently Clearasil. (!?!)

JWBear 04-27-2009 10:55 PM

How many left wingers went on a rampage and killed cops after bush became president? How many right wingers have done so in the last month alone?

The lunatic far right fringe is angry, frustrated, and armed. Scary.
