The Literary Book as a Work of Art and Musical Instrument

I am not sure of there is any interest for this here, but The International Printing Museum in Carson is presenting a lecture on "The literary book as a musical instrument?":

Quote:

Master Book Artist Peter Thomas Here this Month
"The literary book as a musical instrument?" Learn from ingenious book artist Peter Thomas how he transforms musical instruments into books and vice versa. Don't miss the chance to hear this world-renowned Santa Cruz-based book artist on a rare visit to Southern California explain his path-breaking magic, in a free lecture to be presented on Saturday, May 30th, 7 pm in the Museum's Book Arts Gallery on "The Literary Book as a Work of Art and Musical Instrument."

For anyone interested in miniature books as a craft and an art form, two classes taught by Peter the weekend of May 30th in our Book Arts Gallery offer a unique opportunity to learn the basics and more from the master, right here in your Southern California backyard.
There are also two classes on Saturday and Sunday.

I am not sure if I will be attending myself, but I wanted to throw it out there.

FWIW (and in the interest in full disclosure), I went to school (Cal Poly - SLO) with the curator of the museum (Mark Barbour). Super nice guy in the dream job of dream jobs. Not that the job itself is easy: he is just one of those rare souls who happened to find a way to get paid for what he truly loves!

Cool idea!
