The Lost Thread

Here it is, everyone...a thread dedicated to that most unusual of shows: Lost.

What do you like? What don't you like? Favourite characters? What do you think might happen? It all goes here:)

I like reading about the theories. I hope it's not purgatory, though. That's already been done. I like the idea that the island is sentient. It's alive. ALIVE!

I love Locke. The creepiest nice guy or the nicest creepy guy. Love him.

Sawyer is fun to watch. And, well, he's nice looking.

Claire and Charlie.

Sayid and Shannon. Or Sayid doing anything. Alone. Making glasses. Walking. Sayid is a fantastic character.

Love the crazy French babe. Love Hurley being so darn nice. Love that the backstory for the Korean couple was not at all what I was expecting.

I think Boone won't last past the next episode. And I can't say I care all that much, other than I'll feel bad for the doctor, and the people who care about Boone.

I can't wait until Charlie finds all the heroin. Poor lil' hobbity guy.

I'm a recent convert, so I have a lot of gaps to fill in, but I love everything so far. I love the writing, and it's finally something original that's not a reality show. Locke is definitely cool, and last weeks episode was quite unexpected. I can't wait to see what's beyond the hatch!

Lost makes me nervous. I'm old enough to appreciate what they're doing with the story but afraid that the reveal will either suck (a la every "twist" ending since The Sixth Sense) or that they'll lose the thread (like the X-Files). I know that they've said in interviews that this is a five-year plan, but so did Odyssey Five - that never even made it to season 2...

I think I enjoy the show, although I tell Heather that I only watch it to keep her company. If that were the case, I'd watch alot of true medical shows...

Thanks for starting the thread Uvagirl, I'll try to think of something worthwhile to post here.

Woohoo! Thanks for starting this UvaGirl. For all you Sawyer-lovers, he's on the cover of TV Guide this week.

Perfectly said. :snap:

I'm a Jack-lover. It's his whole wounded doctor thing I think.

Huge Locke fan. The philosopher. The outdoorsman. We need more of his backstory, because at this point, we have no idea how he can do what he can do or how he knows what he knows. While his most recent backstory was good, it didn't give me what I wanted.

Love Hurley. Something about him.

I suppose the thing is that I don't DISlike any of he characters. I think they are all well written and developed.

I think Boone's gonna eat it next ep on Wednesday as well, Eliza.

The thing about the show is you've gotta give up enough while you introduce more. If you never clear up anything or give the answers to certain long running questions, the viewers become frustrated. If you reveal too much, it isn't as much fun. Fine line. For example, I was glad they did something with the hatch finally. Didn't reveal it all - just more. The excavation....the light.

There are still many, many questions out there to be resolved.

The monster
Who was Ethan, how did he get there, who else is with him
The polar bear
The numbers
The voices in the jungle
The full story of the hatch

What else am I missing?

Locke's an alright philosopher, but I much prefer the likes of Nietzsche and Sartre. Can't say much about their outdoorsmanship though, for that Thoreau probably's my fav. You know, I kind of feel lost in this thread...

I saw Lost once. Actually, I turned it off before the episode was finished. Something about the Hobbit stealing a Churchill artifact and a pregnant woman and some creepy guy. I couldn't figure out how creepy guy got on the island - and if he was there, why couldn't they get off? Anyways, in my usual fashion, I got bored.

I thought they were going to show the light coming from the hatch this week, I guess it was just a teaser last week to keep you watching.

I am so sad that Boone is gone. I really liked him, i would've rather seen Shannon go!

So now it looks like Sayid is going to kill Locke. As my husband says " I can't see Sayid missing anything he was shooting at, so it looks like Locke is dead."
