Where to travel before you die...

As many of you may know, I have been getting divorced for almost 2 years now. Hopefully, things will be finalized by October and I can move along. Olivia (dd) has handled all of this with maturity beyond her years, and during the journey we have grown even closer (if that was possible). But I digress...
I am saving money and had thought to take O to either WDW or on a Disney cruise this winter. We love Disney, and have visited many times. But now I am considering going further, waiting a few more months and taking a fabulous trip, somewhere that we have never been before; someplace that could mark a new beginning. So...if you could go anywhere, do anything, on a fairly generous (but not unlimited) budget (with a 9yo), where would you go? What would you do? What wouldn't you miss? What trip, IYO, would Olivia and I return from thinking, "WOW!"? |

My teen still thinks the Alaska Trip we took to Denali when she was 9 was the best trip ever. The sled dog kennels alone were worth the trip. If you can add a cruise so much the better but Denali park is freaking awesome if you like nature. |

Machu Pichu. At lest that is one place I would really like to go,

 London. San Francisco. New York.

 Europe! Italy was amazing.
	Or Australia! |

 Paris!
But at age 9, I did the great american road trip - always a classic adventure, you could even do Disney Park to Disney Park followed up with a cruise if you want to keep a Disney theme. |

 New York, London, Paris, Munich?
I concur with the Alaska suggestion especially if you can swing a cruise. |

When I was 9, I was doing a LOT of car travel around the US. But the time I was 15, I had been to all but 7 states. It was fantastic to see the wonders of our wonderful country and how different every mini culture is. BUT, it can be awfully boring in between stops. I also really enjoyed Hawaii at 9 and experiencing how different each of the 4 islands we visited were.
My first trip outside the US (other than Canada and Mexico) was to Peru. I wouldn't recommend that to a 9 year old Favorite places as an adult - Florence, Paris, Tokyo, Berlin, London, Switzerland.....I love to travel so I can't really say I have been disappointed in many places I've been. Bucket list - Turkey, Iceland, Brazil, Australia, New Zealand, Prague, Morocco, and the list goes on. I better not kick the bucket any time soon. |

I haven't been to France or Italy. Two places I'd really like to go to.
