Collective Nouns

I'm always fascinated by the names for collective groups of animals. I started looking into what to call my group of Plecos babies and found all sorts of interesting names for fish groupings beyond the normal "school".

A shiver of sharks (how appropriate!)
A troup of shrimps (notice it is ShrimpS plural)
A flotilla of swordfish (well, they ARE big!)
A party of rainbow fish (must be ravers!)
A glide of flying fish (well, it is what they do!)
A battery of barracuda
and, something I never want to experience:
A swarm of eels

Chris, who is not fond of the action of koi when you feed then decided they would be called "a seeth of Koi"

Here's more collective nouns for fish.

And, apparently we have a Nursery of Raccoons living in our neighborhood.

And, while it's a Murder of Crows it is a Storytelling of Ravens or and Unkindness of Ravens.

Leopards come in Leaps and Rhinos come in a crash.

Fascinating stuff!

Oh, and the collective noun for my plecos babies is Fry.

How about a Drama of LoTters ? ;)

Stoat likes a Bouquet of Pheasants.

Nothing for grouper?

Huh. I read the thread title as "Collective Nuns". Figured it was yet another musical act I had never heard of.

Oh, I just LOVE the frenetic action of koi feeding. There is a lovely (in appearance) Chinese restaurant on International Drive here in Orlando that has a large koi pond at its entrance, and a little vending machine full of koi chow. I always insist on spending a dime so I can watch the fish seethe and surge. Whee!

In light of the info posted above, I've decided that if I were cloned, I would be a Shiver and Quiver of Flippysharks.

I have to believe NA did not intend that "not" to be in there, because I know for a fact that Chris goes out of his way to see the koi seethe.
