Videoconferencing???
 

I'm debating whether to fly to the interview or do videoconferencing. So far, the cheapest I've found for rental facilities is $200/hour, at which point it's basically cheaper to fly out. Does anyone here have connections to anything cheaper?

I'd fly out, even if it's a turn around trip. In person brings a presence that always comes across better than video.

I agree with BTD. If you have the opportunity for a face-to-face meeting, take it.

The camera really hasn't ever been my friend, so I'd fly out. Along with the comments above, if it's cheaper, then hellz-yah!

Flying out shows them how much you want to work for them also. Plus once they meet you.......

What videoconference software would they be using on their side? Any reason you can't go the webcam and Skype (or Webex or Netmeeting, or similar)?

That said, unless you have a lot of these, then in person is way preferable if it can be accommodated.

We use HQ Global/Regus group for our videoconferences here. It's not cheap but they are all over.

The problem is timing with my current job. That I hate, but I'd still like to be employed.

However, I priced videoconferencing stuff and I'd save maybe $100 over flying out, and I figured out that southwest has non-stops to el paso, so yeah, I'm planning to go. Whee! Never been to Texas or New Mexico, and I get to strike two more states off the list with one less-than-24 hour trip!
