How to juice a cucumber.
No, that's not the latest title from Oprah's book club. I actually need advice on how to juice a cucumber without a juicer. We had a juicer. It sat unused for years. We finally donated it a couple weeks ago. Now I need to juice cucumbers.
The best I've come up with is to go at it in a food processor and strain it, but any other suggestions would be appreciated. |
Grate it on a box grater into a bowl (lined with cheesecloth) and then squeeze.
Failing that, get your juicer back. :-) |
Ooh, I like that. Anything to avoid dragging the Cuissinart out.
|
Blender and strain it.

Seriously, though, what fer do you need the cucumber juice? |
Dood. We had that damn juicer for 7 years. Used it twice. Took up space in our soon-to-be-baby's-room since then. And the thing was HUGE.
I can't believe you have an actual need for it....2 weeks after I got rid of it. At least cheesecloth takes up a lot less space. |
You can also rub it over one of those japanese ginger graters (the ones that look like a prickly board) and then squeeze that pulp through a cloth as well (a brand new, well washed chux cloth or similar fills in for cheesecloth very well)
|
Of course. Chux cloth. I'll just run out to my local, umm, chux monger and get some.
|
Chux cloth seems like something you would catch barf with.
