Sooo....
Last week the kid had a wellness check and had to get several boosters, which was not fun but she handled it much better than she did when she was smaller. They also tried to give her a booster for a shot that she'd never had, based on the fact that kids with cochlear implants have to have this shot, which is cool, except she doesn't have an implant.
The PA wasn't happy- they very nearly gave her the shot, and it is a risky one only intended for special circumstances. Luckily I was able to prove that she is in fact implant-free.
So, monday she had an appointment with a podiatrist, for what we thought was a consultation. But, noooo.... they took one look at her ingrown toenails and decided to take 'em out. Many shots, much blood (she's a bleeder) and two big honking bandages later and she was able to hobble out of the office. I was really proud of her- it's really not a pleasant thing to go through, but she was a trooper. Cost me lunch at Sonic, a Halloween costume and no homework for two days, but she says her feet already feel a bunch better. Her cat keeps trying to attack the bandages, though.
