Not really. New battery about a month ago, but that's it.
After this happens, does the radio appear to be acting normally? i.e can you change stations, you just don't get any sound out of the speakers?

Does your owner's manual mention an amplifier and its location? The amplifier takes the signal from the radio and amplifies it for the speakers. If the radio appears to be working but no sound, it could be that there is a problem with the amplifier. Sometimes the amplifier is located under the driver or passenger seat. If you have one, and it's located under a seat, check the connectors to make sure they are fully seated, and haven't been knocked loose.
